Rickie Fowler has golf fans concerned because of some rumors that have been going around for a while. There’s talk that Fowler might leave the PGA Tour, like some other golfers have done, possibly joining LIV Golf. These rumors got stronger when people noticed Fowler playing at The Sentry in Hawaii without wearing the logos of two sponsors he’s had for a long time, Farmers Insurance and Rocket Mortgage.
But when Fowler talked to Golfweek, he said there’s no need to worry. He believes in the PGA Tour leaders and thinks they’ll make the Tour stronger and better.
“You don’t have to worry about that,” Fowler told Golfweek.
“Seeing how much work the guys on the [PGA Tour] board, especially being around [Patrick] Cantlay during the off-season a little bit and leading up to this event, I’ve never seen a person be on the phone so much.”
Rickie Fowler believes in PGA Tour
Fowler mentioned that the leaders in charge of the PGA Tour are putting in a lot of effort. Even though he was part of the Player Advisory Council last year, he decided to step back and trust the current group.
He believes in the abilities of players like Jordan, Cantlay, Tiger, and others to make good decisions for the Tour’s future. Because of this trust, he said he doesn’t plan on leaving the PGA Tour.
Fowler is one of the few players who is happy with the current leadership of the PGA Tour. The leaders of this Tour realized that they had to take their task seriously and help the PGA Tour move in the right direction. LIV Golf spoiled their plans, that’s a fact, but considering the tradition and prestige they have, it is certain that the PGA Tour can recover and try to save a few more big names.
